Last weekend my dad and I were digging some stuff out of the back of Jodi's grandmother's garage and discovered this old Schwinn! It belongs to Jodi's mom or one of her Aunts... From extensive searching on the internet it appears to be from the late 50's to early 60's... Pretty cool to say the least... The best part about this bike was that I pumped up the tires and low and behold they held so I road it all over the neighborhood! :-) Gotta love it!
From my days working at bike shops back home I've grown pretty fond of old bikes... I would LOVE to find an old Schwinn Tandem as those are a TON of fun... There were several mechanics that had old ones and we used to have "old" tandem races during the Coast Guard festival in Grand Haven... Those things flex like noone's business when you put 'em hard into a corner :-) It was a blast! Let me know if you know anyone that has one in the back of their grandmother's garage so I can take it off their hands... no really!
